Description: | SUMMARY
Provide a safe and secure environment for guests, owners, vendors, and employees by directing the implementation of sound safety, security and emergency methods and practices as dictated by Sundance policies and procedures.
| Duties: | ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assets Protection and Loss Prevention of Sundance property from fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
Acts as a first responder to any emergency (i.e., medical, fire, accidents, domestic disturbances, building alarms, severe weather incidents, and any other incident that may require assistance) and coordinates with additional resources (law enforcement, fire department, UDOT) as needed.
Access control of Sundance property for employees and guests.
Keeps all information obtained in any format (verbal, electronic, paper, and all others) concerning private or confidential issues unrevealed and unreleased in accordance with confidentiality agreements, policies, and procedures.
Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and detain or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Escorts employees to the safe during times of deposit
Escorts employees to parking area upon request.
Inventory control of transferable assets i.e. radios, pagers, cell phones, building and vehicle keys.
Accident prevention and documentation.
Clearing house for lost and found issues.
Assist guests and employees locked out of their vehicle.
Assists other departments, mostly at night, with check-ins, guest request and after hours maintenance calls.
Leads, directs, and supports others during times of urgency or emergency in the absence of the Safety Manager or Assistant Safety Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports Safety Management and Senior Company Management by occasionally taking leadership roles in the absence of and / or when not able to contact the Safety Management or other Senior Management. May be assigned (or need to assume) occasional leadership roles during times of urgency, emergency and / or evacuation to facilitate swift response and management of small and large urgent or emergent situations. Responsibilities may include: planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.
DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
Safety Officer Uniform Guidelines
In serving and responding to our guest’s needs, we are concerned about the impression we create by our personal appearance. When you arrive for work you need to be in uniform and within Sundance grooming standards (for more detail on Sundance grooming and hygiene standards refer to your employee manual, page 13). Be sure to know and follow these standards and guidelines, they will be enforced.
You will receive several uniform articles. You are responsible for keeping the items clean and in good repair.
Shirt and Jacket: You will wear the 5.11 Safety Officer Polo shirts issued to you. The shirt should be clean and tucked into your pants. During cold weather you will be issued a jacket. You may wear additional layers as long as the Sundance jacket can be worn on top. Non Sundance brand affiliated clothing is not approved to wear on duty.
Name Tag: A Sundance name tag will be worn where visible to our guests. If it is lost, please let your manager know and they will have a replacement supplied.
Pants and Belt: You will provide EMS style khaki pants. Your pants should be clean without any holes or rips. You will also be issued a black Galco belt so you can carry your radio and other equipment.
Boots: It is your responsibility to provide appropriate footwear with your uniform. Acceptable foot wear will be in the form of black, polishable boots or black high top leather shoes, appropriate cold weather/mountain foot wear is also acceptable. Please see your manager if you are unsure. All foot wear will be kept in good condition, free of cracks and holes with maintained soles. All foot wear will be polished with shoe polish as appropriate.
High-visibility Parka: There are two of these located in the Safety vehicle. It is mandatory that you wear these when you are out in the road working, for example, clearing debris, towing cars, or doing traffic control. We have these for the safety of our officers.

It is expected of you to carry the following items at all times during your shift:
-Resort Master Keys
-Radio (carried on your belt and on channel 7 with the volume up)
-Med Pack (containing gloves, cpr mask, and shears)
-Fire Pager (carried in the Motorola case on your belt, channel A)
-Safety Office Cell Phone
-Flashlight (if you are working at night)
-Pen and Notepad

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Current CPR Certification. Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers’ License in good standing as determined by Sundance’s Insurance Company guidelines.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
TECHNICAL / COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency in creating and using: spreadsheets, databases, word processing, Internet navigation, and e-mail.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
