The Department of Medical Services requires a Director charged with strategic planning of the department’s alignment with MGL’s current and future commercial plans in the area of predictive and personalized medicine, through leadership of internal and external Medical Education teams. The Director, who will participate in direction setting discussions, will be responsible for the creation and execution of plans involving the deployment, training, and professional growth of medical personnel within the department. The director will be responsible for high-level communication with other departments regarding Medical Services’ role in MGL’s commercial strategies, and must be able to effectively communicate plans to key managers of medical education personnel. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing curricula for the continued professional growth of key managers under the Director’s supervision and to oversee plans for the professional development of medical education staff, including appropriate deployment of managers and staff to key projects that advance the goals of the Department and MGL as a whole. The Director will anticipate the need for training in new areas of growth relevant to MGL’s products, and devise wide ranging strategies to meet that need. Implicit in the Director’s role is the requirement for budget planning and budget advocacy aligned with achievement of strategic goals, and budget oversight within the stated area of responsibility. In addition to these stated departmental goals, the Director will be expected to provide key leadership in MGL-wide projects.
Reports to: Vice President Medical Services
Reportees: RMS Managers, Senior Genetic Counselor/Manager of Internal Professional Support Staff.

Duties: |
In concert with Vice-President and Research Team, set Medical Services strategies for current and new products.
Represent Medical Services in multi-department discussions of MGL commercial strategies pursuant to development of Medical Services Strategic plans.
Responsibility for high-level communication with other departments within MGL regarding Medical Education plans and needs.
To provide leadership and direction for RMS/PSS managers with overall responsibilities of development of a staffing strategy, professional training and development, and continuing education of Medical Educators within Medical Services.
Assess candidacy for, develop, monitor and assess corporate projects for RMS/PSS managers
In coordination with RMS/PSS managers, develop, monitor and assess corporate projects for Medical Services Personnel.
Oversee the creation and execution of Budgets related to Direct Reports.
To direct the creation and periodic review of SOPs for relevant professional activities both regionally and internally.
Corporate Leadership projects as assigned.

Qualifications: |
Graduate degree relevant to medical field
Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated management success in a corporate setting.
Demonstrated leadership ability in the area of professional development planning
Demonstrated leadership in project management.
Experience managing field and home based professionals.
Experience managing other managers.
Preferred Skills:
Pharm D., experience in Cancer Genetics.
