HVAC Service Technician

Description:

PPM Plumbing, Heating & Soft Water is now hiring qualified HVAC Service Technicians to join the PPM Team servicing Utah County.

Sevice Technicians determine service needs, quote prices, and perform repairs.

Employees must be professional in skill and appearance and able to interact and communicate well with clients in their homes and businesses.

PPM is a Drug Free and Smoke Free workplace.

Drug testing and background checks are required for all employees.

Salary will be determined by experience and skill level. Hourly wage or commission compensation plans are available.

Employees are sustantially rewared for up-sales while at the jobsite.

Duties:

Communicate professionally, respectfully and articulately with customers, office staff and coworkers.

Carefully and accurately diagnose work to be performed.

Quote correct prices from the PPM flat rate book.

Be thorough and detailed in the paperwork for each service call.

List model & serial numbers, filter sizes, flat rate task numbers, etc. on invoice.

Inform the customer of every option as well as each comfort and safety upgrade available to them. (For example: high efficiency air filter, humidifier, carbon monoxide detector, higher efficiency furnace and A/C, programmable t-stat, water softener, protection plan maintenance agreement etc.)

Perform a safety check for carbon monoxide on every furnace that is over 10 years old.

Shut off and Red Tag any furnace that has carbon monoxide leakage.

Follow PPM policies and procedures for dispatch, paperwork, job completion, etc.

Call in your arrival time upon arrival at each job.

Call in to report your finish time, contract number amount of payment, form of payment, and number of stickers/magnets placed before leaving jobsite.

Arrive to work on time.

Keep company vehicle well maintained and clean inside and out.

Drive cautiously, safely and with respect for other drivers.

Only use company vehicle for company business.

Participate in all required staff meetings and trainings.

Help maintain and promote a high company moral, professional, and friendly work environment by abstaining from profanity and gossip.

Speak to management rather than coworkers regarding any job related concerns.

Communicate any safety issues to a supervisor immediately.

Keep PPM a drug free, smoke free, and alcohol free workplace.

Adhere to instructions of supervisors and managers.

Ask for assistance from service manager when unsure about any repair or company policy.

Properly wear a clean company uniform.

Wear shoe covers into customer homes and
businesses.

Carefully clean up before leaving jobsite.

Leave customer's homes and business cleaner than when you arrived.

Place PPM stickers and magnets at every home and business.

Maintain a well groomed, "clean cut" appearance.

Work hard, smart and efficiently.

Look for ways to improve our company and share them with a supervisor.

Treat each customer & coworker like gold.

Radiate a positive attitude.

Be honest.

Have fun and take pride in the service you provide .

Qualifications:

All applicants must have experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing furnaces & air conditioners.

Applicants must have current Utah driver's license and a good driving record as they will be driving company vehicle to customer's homes and businesses.

Must have RMGA gas certification and EPA refrigerant certification.
