We are the leading provider of software solutions and associated services for libraries of all types (academic, public, corporate, government, public/private K-12 schools and special). We have an immediate full time opportunity in our Provo, Utah office for an individual for the position of Senior Software Engineer.

The Senior Software Engineer performs complex design and programming tasks pertaining to the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of software products.

Duties:

The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
•Participate in a Development team that is responsible for developing quality software.

•Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain.

•Test and peer review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design.

•Work with Software Test team to ensure that the product is fully tested.

•Work with Documentation to see that all enhancements, bug fixes, and new products are documented.

•Work with Product Management team to ensure appropriate project requirements are met.

•Estimate development schedules and determine project scope.

•Mentor and train entry-level software engineers.

•Create product using a “test-driven design” approach.

•Provide technical assistance and technical training to other departments as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience, plus:

•Proven work experience on an enterprise-level project.

•Experience in developing servlets, JSP’s, web applications, or Web Services.

•5+ years Java, C++, C# or related experience

•1-2 years work experience with XML.

•Database experience (i.e., Oracle, MS SQL).

•Experience using Linux (Redhat/Suse), Unix, or Solaris.

Preferred experience: 3-5 years experience using coding services (such as JDBC, JNDI) and relational databases (i.e., Oracle, MS SQL), and experience with IIS, JBoss, WebLogic, or WebSphere, Windows NT/W2K/XP/Vista.

Desired experience: Experience in Agile development environments. Database experience. Experience using Unix, Linux, or Solaris. Spring MVC Framework experience. 10 years experience in software engineering.
