Strong web design as well as graphic and type skills are a must. Ability to contribute compelling marketing copy and/or headlines as needed. Constantly searching for new design information and/or studies and improving personal design aesthetics. |
Duties: |
* Strategic Thinking - Works independently or with a team to define objectives; Delivers work that is aesthetically pleasing, thoughtful and visionary.
* Technical Know-how - Designs online landing page and marketing piece options that work within required parameters and timeline limits; Produces accurate high-quality work that is organized and can easily be interpreted by other designers.
* Presentation Skills - Able to articulate concepts clearly to internal teams, comfortable presenting to audiences both large and small. Thinks about both the format and method of presentation to enhance the communication of ideas.
* Organization and Planning skills - Meets project timelines through good management of workflow and ability to prioritize. Provides scheduling/timeline information for projects; Keeps management apprised of unavoidable lateness. Identifies roadblocks and works with management to determine solutions. Maintains extensive color matching records and archive artwork using an organized, logical system.
* Attention to detail - Delivers polished work for creative reviews.
Finishes work to the level desired by Design Director. Ensures that presentations are correct down to the smallest detail for both internal and external presentations.
Other Duties:
Interoffice: Creative group and Marketing - Works closely with Design Director, and collaboratively with other designers, copy writers and other staff. Able to take direction and feedback (both positive and negative). Takes criticism of work in a professional and graceful manner, while staying focused on broader objectives. Shares ideas and works with the team collectively. Works effectively with peers on the Marketing side to deliver solutions that are on strategy and on brand.
Personal Qualities: Leadership, Initiative, Judgment, Flexibility and Diplomacy -Always looks for ways to improve the work and creative process. Contributes to larger conversations around the project.
Communicates with management proactively about workload, project status and issues that arise. Fills down time productively (e.g.
developing one’s knowledge of sustainability; organizing files and artwork database).

Qualifications: |
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design (in progress or completed); or an equivalent degree. BFA preferred.
Experience:
• 1-4 years experience in graphics with an emphasis in web 2.0 design
• Must have a passion for design and its role in advertising and marketing
• Working knowledge of web design aesthetics and trends
• Macintosh environment; Advanced Adobe CS3 design software skill and knowledge
• Strong design, layout and typography skills
• Strong understanding of marketing concepts, design principles and color theory
Others:
• Good oral communication and presentation skills
• Able to prioritize and manage workflow
• Ability to work collaboratively on team-based projects
• HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL experience not required but are seen as a plus
