Job Summary
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, keeps score, keeps the official time and keeps game statistics for flag football, basketball, baseball, softball or soccer games for leagues and tournament play. Grade P-1.

Duties: |
Essential Functions
Ensure accurate time, scores and statistics are kept.
Score keeps and/or time keeps assigned games for leagues and tournament play.
Assist in field/court set up and take down.
Assist with safety and related inspections.
Report any field/court problems to the Supervisor.
Report any problems with coaches, players, parents or spectators to the Supervisor.
Ensure safety of staff, participants and citizens.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: |
Education and Experience
Must be at least 14 years of age at the time of application. Proof of age will be required.
Prefer some flag football, basketball, baseball, softball, or soccer experience; position will require training and taking a test before being assigned to games.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of flag football, basketball, baseball, softball, or soccer programs; knowledge of manual (score books) and electronic equipment (timers, score boards, sound systems, etc). Will be required to pass a skills and knowledge test prior to being assigned to games. Contact with the public presenting and defining scores, times and statistics. Must be able to communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public, and work independently or with other employees on assigned games.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to heat, cold and wet/humid conditions; continual field work; moderate mental effort is required; moderate mental pressure exists due to exposure to interpersonal conflicts; moderate physical exertion may be required when setting up for games.
