Description: |
Mentors work with at-risk youth in the capacity of a role model, problem solver, and provider of supervision, safety and security. This is a "hands on" position with mentors being direct participants in the students' daily program.
Shift:
Mon - Thurs 11pm to 7am

Fri, Sat, Sun 11pm to 9am |
Duties: |
| Mentors work side-by-side with our students -- if students are working mentors are working with them and if students are engaged in an activity mentors are engaged in the same activity. Mentors are outside year round working with animals (calves, horses, etc), manure, straw, and alfalfa. Mentors are expected to develop appropriate relationships with students, to lead by example, and be actively engaged in the welfare of our students. Though physical incidents are exceptionally rare, mentors must be willing/able to use provided training to intervene and deescalate confrontational situations . |
Qualifications: |
| 21 years or older. Valid drivers license. Excellent verbal communication skills. Solid writing skills. Must pass Utah BCI check, and random drug screenings. Willing to become certified in CPR/First Aid and physical intervention training. Able to confront and hold students accountable while maintaining healthy relationships. |
