Description:

This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing engineering processes.

Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manages development, evaluations, and improvements to manufacturing methods. Directs analysis and planning of work force utilization, space requirements, and work flow, and directs design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

2. Coordinates the interface with engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

3. Interfaces with vendor contacts to determine manufacturing equipment specifications and arranges for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

4. Consults with senior management concerning production times, staffing requirements, and related costs.

5. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

6. Trains employees and provides work direction for the Manufacturing Engineering Department.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or related field, plus a minimum of five years progressively more responsible related managerial experience. This position requires proven oral and written communication and human relation skills.

The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

Training Requirements:

This position requires training in the areas of Hazardous Material Communications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

1. Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously.
2. Ability to function in a team environment.
3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
4. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, senior management,
or employees of the company.
5. Ability to effectively present information to senior management, and employees.
