Description: |
KnowledgeBlue LLC offers Global Outsourcing services and web hosting to small and medium businesses and is an Application Service Provider.
NOC Administrator 2-5 years with background in Linux, Apache, shell scripting, Windows network administration, Windows Terminal Services Administration, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Oracle database administration and application programming skills would be preferred.

Duties: |
This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our world-class Data Center and NOC Operations. This position will provide technical support to internal KnowledgeBlue staff as well as limited customer technical support.
Responsibilities include:
• Administer security on Linux and Windows platforms;
• Configure and administer Apache web server;
• Manage email servers and anti-spam tools;
• Intrusion Detection / Prevention (SNORT)
• Administer and monitor system availability and performance tools (Nagios);
• Design, implement, and monitor system backup and recovery processes (Zmanda);
• Aid in database administration and operation (Oracle);
• System installation and configuration;
• Operating system installations and upgrades.
• SAS70 Process Development & Certification
Scope of Work
1. Ensure Pro-active and responsive monitoring of data center
2. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Operational Tasks as defined in the Wiki
3. Daily Documentation of Procedures
4. Daily Support Ticket Management
5. Service Level Agreements (SLA) - :30 minutes maximum response time
6. Development of the Operations Technical Architecture (OTA) for Clients and KnowledgeBlue
7. Design and Programming of business applications for Clients
8. Systems design and architectural documentation

Qualifications: |
Other skills desired:
• Minimum of one year in medium-size Enterprise-wide NOC environment running Data Centers
• Experience with e-commerce and e-hosting environments;
• Operational and process-based experience (SAS70, Cobit)
• Experience in problem resolution with IT systems and individuals;
• Ability to interact with clients in a professional, articulate way;
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Platforms and Software tools:
Familiarity with a majority of the following: Linux (RedHat, Debian), Apache, Urchin, Snort, Nagios, Hyperic, Qmail, Postfix, Sendmail, Spamassassin, openBSD, VNC, Bash, Webalyzer, BIND/Named, LDAP, Webmin, Samba, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2003 Terminal Services, Oracle 10g.
